10 Life-Changing Tips For Spring
 
 Life-style guru and author Lynette Allen is an expert on positive thinking who understands the female psyche only too well.

We all do our best to be some kind of Super Woman in our everyday lives, she says, and find it all so depressing when we fail.

She knows how easy it would be to give up on the multitude of things we need to do each day and just eat chocolate instead. But don’t despair, in her lecture at the Mind, Body, Soul exhibition at Brentwood, "Behind With the Laundry and Living off Chocolate", Lynette will set some positive steps for making women’s lives happier and more fulfilled. And here are 10 of them, just to get you started:

1) Know what you want from life: take a few minutes sitting in the quiet somewhere and have a think about your future. Imagine, for instance, that you’re five years ahead and ask what you’d like your life to look like then. By getting a firm idea of what you want out of life, you’ll stand a chance of getting it!

2) Write down five things you’d need to do to get you from where you are now to where you want to be. Keep that five year image in your mind and work-out which five things you’d need to do to make it all a reality.

3) Stay positive, keeping your subconscious mind filled with positive thoughts about your future: it's imperative if you’re to get what you want. Keep re-playing that mind-clip of you in five years time; keep positive about it and tell yourself it can all come true.

4) Use your intuition when making decisions concerning your future. It’s your inner way of making sure you can really trust your decisions. If it feels right, then it probably is!

5) Write down what you want to do and you’ll stand more chance of seeing your dreams come true. The very action of putting pen to paper helps your subconscious see it in your future - so get scribbling!

6) Spice up your love life by clearing out your underwear drawer, keeping the really sexy stuff and wearing it every day for that instant feel-good factor!

7) If you do nothing else each day, compliment three people on how great they look. Turn saying nice things to those you love into a habit by boosting their egos, yours will bloom too.

8) Wrap up warm and take a walk in the middle of the day. Getting out for at least a few minutes every day is vital and is a brilliant way to clear your mind and re-focus.

9) Improve your eye contact with others this week. It gets you noticed and it makes others feel ‘seen’. It’s also a fantastic way to overcome shyness, boost your confidence and flirt – all at the same time!

10) Make every day a great one by writing down five things that made you feel good each evening. Even the worst day will have it upside, so concentrate on that and tomorrow you’ll be smiling!
