The love affair didn’t last but Olivia’s sojourn in Montepulciano inspired a much more enduring passion for Vino Nobile that soon became a fascination with viticulture. Returning to England she moved to London where she spent her twenties working in a series of office and bar jobs including a stint temping for a company who put erotic fiction onto audiotape – her job was to take the illegal acts out of the text before they were recorded.
