| Lisa Hyatt is a corporate flight attendant whose day job is flying various celebrities and world leaders around the globe on a private business jet. Lisa has also written several screenplays and even optioned one as a television show. She currently lives in the Outer Banks. Joni Davis is a partner with the entertainment law firm of Schroder, Fidlow and Titley, PLC. Her diverse clients include authors, artists and musicians, who are often seen scurrying out of her office with a suspicious pink heart and instructions to clear their love corner. She lives in Richmond, Virginia with her daughter and two cats. Both women are happily involved with their own Feng Shui Loves, and have multiple success stories transforming the love lives of friends, family and casual acquaintances. They have begun writing a non-fiction guide and often participate in singles events offering private consultations. They are also hard at work on the sequel, Feng Shui Love Child. Feng Shui Love ![]() Buy now Most women cite adultery, financial ruin, or irreconcilable differences for the demise of their marriages, but Lily Chamberlayne cites a dark musty closet. After Lily returns from a disastrous second honeymoon in which her high-powered attorney-husband cops to having an affair with his trashy legal assistant (so cliché she could book them a spot on Jerry Springer), she’s forced to pick up the pieces and try again in the quest for true love. So she lands on the New York City doorstep of her lifelong friend, Brook Bellevue, a rock journalist for a cable station, who’s also newly single. Lily’s wacky mother, Lauraine, insists the pair’s failed relationships are due to the bad energy trapped in their living spaces. During one of her frantic visits, with a feng shui expert in tow, the duo transforms the girls’ apartment into a peaceful and harmonious space (insert eye rolls here). But when positive changes result almost immediately, Lily can’t help but get caught up in the feng shui frenzy herself as she’s inundated with a new batch of suitors; her very own Dr. Dreamy, her nerdy classmate from 11th grade biology class, and even her ex-husband is back for forgiveness. But which one will become her Feng Shui Love? Review One thing I love about US chicklit is that the protagonists are much more together than their British counterparts. Even Lily, who is reeling from the outing of her husband's affair, picks herself up, dusts herself down and starts building herself a new life double quick. There's none of the endless introspection and self-questioning that British chicklit heroines seem to enjoy. What sets this book apart from other Chicklit novels is its subtle use of Feng Shui which adds a whole other (fascinating) dimension. For example, I discovered that I keep my cat litter in the money area of my home - a fact which could explain a whole lot! That aside, there's enough plot and action to keep anyone happy, with a lovely aww moment at the end. Now, where's that red balloon when I need one (you'll have to read the book to understand that!)
