| Rachel Caine- The Morganville Vampire Series |
![]() Rachel Caine’s series of vampire books I found extremely enjoyable. A series of eleven books: The Glass House, The Dead Girls’ Dance, Midnight Alley, Feast of Fools, Lord of Misrule, Carpe Campus, Fade Out, Kiss of Death, Ghost Town, Bite Club and Last Breath. Glass House Buy Now! An amazing start to the series! It’s about a girl who goes to university early because she’s really clever. However the town bully gets to her and, in a way, forces her to move off site. In doing so she finds three great friends and a humongous town secret. I enjoyed this book because; it’s about discovering things you didn’t think were true. Things you thought were fairytales, stories people made up to keep you awake at night. Although we know that this is a fictional book it doesn’t really fell like it and you get sucked up in the story. The Dead Girls’ Dance Buy Now! Second in the series and still an amazing book. Claire is enjoying life quite a lot. She’s having fun at home with her roommates but still being bullied at school. When her roommates dad suddenly appears in their home, Claire’s world gets shaken. In fact the whole town does. Another absolutely enjoyable book. Not my favourite, but still amazing. It’s one of those books you cannot put down until you finish the last sentence. Midnight Alley Buy Now! Third book in the series and again still amazing. Claire’s happy, things with Shane’s father are over and everyone seems to be fine. Claire didn’t tell anyone, not even her roommates and best friends, her secret. When they find out, they are actually quite upset that she didn’t tell them. I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed the whole series. It was absolutely wonderfully enjoyable and on my recommendations list for teenage girls. Feast of Fools Buy Now! Fourth book in the series and I think it might actually be favourite book from this series. The founders father arrives in town, wanting to see his daughter. That’s not all he wanted to do, he had hidden plans. Claire and her roommates had to try to stop him from carrying them out. As I said before my favourite book of the series and very entertaining. It leaves you on a cliff-hanger and you just have to buy the next book. I found it really hard to put down and do other things, and when I did the story still stayed with me. Lord of Misrule Buy Now! Fifth book in series and clears up the cliff-hanger of the fourth, although it leaves another one! Claire is under the power of Mr Bishop and her friends think she has abandoned them to fight with the enemy. However this is untrue. Another enjoyable hard to put down book. My least favourite, but without it the series wouldn’t make sense. The atmosphere is rather sad and desperate. Carpe Corpus Buy Now! Sixth book in the series, and carries on from the cliff-hanger of the fifth and fourth books. Claire and her roommates are still trying to beat the founder’s father at his own game. No one’s sure whether they will be able to beat him as he starts to develop his own army out of their soldiers. Another of my favourite books and an extremely enjoyable read. It has a kind of desperate atmosphere, wanting to keep in control of the town. Fade Out Buy Now! Seventh book in the series. Claire’s best friend and roommate, Eve, gets a part in the town theatre production. She makes friends with one of those wannabe girls who look down on everybody else, and Claire feels like she’s been “best friend dumped”. When Eve’s new friend goes missing even Claire gets worried and tries to find her, when they do they unravel a huge and slightly purvey secret of hers. Another really enjoyable book and another of my all time favourites. It’s top of my recommendations for teenage girls list and a must-have! I could not put this book down! Kiss of Death Buy Now! Eighth book in the series and the one I read first. Claire and her friends made a deal with a group of rather horrible people. The deal was on their lives. Unfortunately they couldn’t carry out the deal, but the founder instead gave them passes to leave the town. As I said earlier, it was the first book of the series in which I read. It didn’t feel as if I needed to know what had happened before but when I read the earlier ones it filled the few holes that the book left behind. Ghost Town Buy Now! I found it a highly enjoyable page-turner. Now that Ada is dead Morganville needs a new protective system. But as she finds it hard to build a machine that can wipe memories she has consequences for her mistakes. A truly enjoyable read, I couldn’t stop reading it, yet I didn’t want to read it because then the book would be over and I didn't have the tenth one! This series is probably one of my absolute favourites because of all the different things going on at the same time. There is always a good story to read. Bite Club Buy now! This is by far the best book in the whole series, that's my opinion. Shane gets himself involved in something he really shouldn't be in and he can't get out of. Claire has to get the town founder involved and then get Shane out quick otherwise there could be life and death concequences. A complete page-turner in which I read in about three hours, because I just couldn't put it down. The atmosphere is more urgent instead of dark. This book is highly enjoyable and a reccommendation! Last Breath Buy Now! This book is very exciting! In every book Rachel Caine finds new adventures for Claire aand her friends, and it is always enjoyable. A definite recommendation for teenage girls. In this book: three vampires go missing, the vampires no why but they're not telling the humans. A new person comes to town but no one can see him except Claire, and she doesn't think he's human...or vampire! |
