Seasoning is the new kid on the block in Fulham's established restaurant land. At first glance you could take it for a plain old (but very hip) Indian restaurant, but it actually offers an interesting mix of traditional dishes, together some Chinese offerings and some unusual fusions. For starters we had Chinese style pepper coated mushrooms, together with aloo Tikki (minced potato patty stuffed with gram peas) , as well as the most succulent lamb chops I've had in a long time. Our favourite mains were Jeera and Butter Chicken, both were rich without being heavy. These were accompanied by lemon rice - rice cooked with lemon juice, peanuts and curry leaves, which put my usual Pilau rice to shame. Dessert was Kulfi, which would have been delicious on its own, but unfortunately came draped with a sweet red sauce that just didn't do it for me. Overall, a great little addition to the local area - stylish, great service, and a high quality of food to boot. Seasoning also hosts events and provides outside catering, including a recent event in Paris! http://seasoning-restaurant.co.uk/default.aspx 84D- 86 Lillie Road Fulham London SW6 1TL 0207 386 0303. |
