T'estimo Codorníu

Whether it's a romantic evening or a girli night in, pink fizz does it for us every time. One of the latest we've tried and liked is Codorníu Pinot Noir Rosé Cava.

Over five centuries 17 generations of cavamakers have been making Codorníu, whose Cavas reflect the vibrant, cosmopolitan character of the region’s largest city, Barcelona. Codorníu Pinot Noir Rosé Cava is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir grapes, which create a fruity Cava, filled with flavours of soft red berries with a hint of citrus fruit. This pink fizz is perfect for sipping with canapés before an intimate meal for two.


Grilled calamari salad with new potato, chorizo, olives, tomato, red onion and olives

(Serves 4)

Cooking time: 35 minutes



8 baby calamari tubes

4 sausages of cooking chorizo

12 new potatoes. Boiled

12 walnut halves, toasted

3 tomatoes, cut into quarters

20 natural black olives (destoned)

1 red onion, thinly sliced

100ml lemon juice

50g rocket leaves

4 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper

Crusty white loaf





  • Cut the chorizo in half, lengthways, and place on a backing tray with the calamari tubes (your fishmonger can clean these for you). Place the tray under a hot grill and cook for approximately 10 minutes, turning after 5, until golden brown
  • Place the calamari and chorizo in a large mixing bowl with the onion, olives, tomato, potato and lemon juice. Add the walnuts, rocket and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper and gently toss the ingredients
  • Arrange an even mixture of the ingredients on each of four plates or serve in a large bowl in the middle of the table
    Tip: serve with crusty bread and olive oil for dipping
