It’s narrated by a male, it’s quirky, different, thought provoking, and I read it in two sittings. I couldn’t put it down. 9/10 Other books by Jessica: Chicklit talks to Jessica Adams... So, where do you get your ideas? Most of my ideas are channelled to me from the spirit world, where there are lots of old authors and journalists knocking about who love nothing better than working with us on this side. How did you go about finding an agent/publisher? I found an agent because one of my spirit guides insisted William Morris was right. I got lost in London on my first trip, and ended up at the William Morris pub in Hammersmith. Then I was sent a William Morris postcard. Then I stayed in a hotel where my entire bedroom was upholstered in William Morris fabric. I can take a hint. I signed to Stephanie Cabot! Do you have a writing routine? All my writing is done in my shed in Bellingen, Northern New South Wales,Australia. I take in a vacuum flask of tea and don't get out of the shed until the sun comes down. Any advice on going for the long haul and completing a novel when it feels like it's never going to end? The only advice that counts is from Monica Dickens: just write. Don't analyse it, worry about it, look sideways at what other people are doing, freak out about agents or publishers, or anything else. If you get off your arse and actually complete a novel in the first place, you are halfway to eventually seeing it in print...even if it takes you years, the key is to actually DO it in the first place. Who are your favourite authors? Jessica: My favourite authors are John O'Farrell, Nick Hornby and Nancy Mitford. Reviews Recently we have been reviewing and changing our review process.
